Leagues are required to inform Ringette BC of any players designated for release, as well as any tiered teams that may not be formed.
It is also important to note that Ringette BC directs athletes on where to try out. To do this effectively, we require early estimates and projected numbers from each league to ensure athletes are placed appropriately and have the best possible access to tiered opportunities.
Rationale: Early notification allows athletes from zones without a viable tiered team to obtain releases in a timely manner, giving them adequate opportunity to plan, arrange travel, and participate in tryouts in another zone. This requirement does not prevent athletes from trying out after the deadline; they remain subject to the registration deadlines of the zones in which they try out for.
