Coaches, parents and athletes need to be aware of the signs and symptoms of concussions and to remember the saying “When in Doubt, Sit them out!”.
Ringette BC expects that all coaches and parents and volunteers put athlete safety above all else in ringette. Ringette BC supports coaches to make the decision to have an athlete sit out and not participate if they have potentially received a concussion as a result of a collision, fall, or hit.
Ringette BC requires that all Head Coaches complete Concussion Awareness training.
Other equivalent courses are acceptable but proof of completion must be provided to Ringette BC. Approval of another concussion training course outside of the two noted courses is not guaranteed.
