For Directions on how to register for clinics and how to upgrade your coach certifications please follow the steps below.

To complete the Community Sport Initiative coaching program the please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Ringette Canada’s Coaching website at coachingringette.ca
  2. Scroll down and click the SIGN UP button
  3. Create a coaching profile with Ringette Canada.
  4. Once the Profile is created go to your “Status” and select the Introduction to Coaching Workbook and complete the workbook.
  5. Register and attend an Introduction to Coaching Ringette Clinic.
  6. Once the Workbook is complete scroll to Community Sport Initiation Clinic and choose register.
    1. This will bring up a separate screen showing the clinic options in BC.
    2. Select the one you want to take.
    3. Registration and payment is processed through the Ringette Canada website.
  7. Attend the clinic
  8. The office will give you credit for the course, which will then pass into the Coaches Association of Canada (CAC) database TheLocker.

After the clinic is complete Next Steps:

  1. Complete your Making Ethical Decisions Module (MED) through ViaSport:
    1. Go to : http://www.viasport.ca/coaching/nccp-course-calendar
    2. Scroll down till you find the Make Ethical Decisions course options.
  2. Once the course is complete. Go to your Ringette Canada coach Profile:
    1. Scroll down and choose: “This is Complete give me Credit”
    2. Then go to “Community Sport Initiation MED Evaluation” and Click I want to complete my MED
  3. The office will follow up with you for proof of the course and to give credit.

Once the above is complete you are a CSI –Trained

To complete the Competition Introduction coaching pathway, please follow the steps below.

If you do not already have a Coaching profile with Ringette Canada you will need to create one first and complete the Introduction to Coaching course work before you can proceed to the Competition Introduction course work.

  1. Go to Ringette Canada’s Coaching website at coachingringette.ca
  2. Scroll down and click the SIGN UP button
  3. Create a coaching profile with Ringette Canada.
  4. Once the Profile is created go to your “Status” and select the Introduction to Coaching Workbook and complete the workbook.

Now begin your CI online work.

  1. Scroll down to the Competition Introduction Section select the Workbook. You must complete the online workbook before attending the class.
  2. This will bring up a separate screen showing the clinic options in BC.
  3. Select the one you want to take and register for it.
    1. Registration and payment is processed through the Ringette Canada website.
  4. Attend the clinic
  5. The office will give you credit for the course, which will then pass into the Coaches Association of Canada (CAC) database The Locker.

After the clinic is complete Next Steps:

To become CI – Certified please complete the evaluation process. See the steps below:

Below are the next steps towards evaluation.

  1. Register for your CI Evaluation by logging into your coaching profile with Ringette Canada at www.coachingringette.ca.
    1. To Register got to your “status” page and
  2. Complete your season plan. Please use the Ringette BC (BCRA) season plan template. If you choose to submit a different template it must meet the same standard – submit the season plan to the BCRA office at: technicalcoordinator@bcringette.org
  3. Complete your Emergency Action Plan (EAP) – Submit your EAP to the BCRA office at: technicalcoordinator@bcringette.org
  4. Create a practice plan to use at the on ice evaluation – you must bring this with you. Submit your Practice Plan to the BCRA office at: technicalcoordinator@bcringette.org
  5. Submit to the Technical Coordinator your Scenario Analysis and Performance Analysis. You started this in the CI course.
  6. If you have not already done so, Complete Multi-sport MED training – Home study available through ViaSport: http://www.viasport.ca/coaching/nccp-course-calendar
    1. MED multi-sport is available through home study or classroom.
  7. Complete MED online evaluation:
    1. Go to coachingringette.ca and log into YOUR profile.
    2. Once in your profile scroll down to CI: Competition Introduction MED Evaluation and click “I want to complete my MED”.
      1. This will take you to the Locker to complete the online evaluation
    3. Once the above is complete you will be able to request an Evaluation through coachingringette.ca
      1. Go to your profile and scroll down to CI: “Competition Introduction Evaluation” and choose BEGIN
    4. Proof of the following should be shown to your Coaching Coordinator and Updated in your Karelo Profile prior to evaluation:
      1. Concussion awareness training including Making head way, CATT
      2. Prevention in Motion or equivalent such as Speak out or Respect in Sport
      3. Criminal Record Check

Once the request for evaluation has been submitted. The office takes over and does the following:

  1. Assigns an evaluator to you.
  2. Sends your Season Plan and EAP to the evaluator prior to the on ice evaluation for their review
  3. The evaluator will contact the coach to coordinate a time to hold the evaluation.
  4. Evaluator informs the office of the evaluation and if the coach was successful.

Office staff will update the coaches profile in Ringette Canada and Ringette Canada sends the information to the Locker.
