BC Winter Games 2028

The 2028 BC Winter Games will be held in Kamloops, British Columbia, in February 2028, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Games.

Zone Representatives support with the following tasks:

  • Complete registration for all athletes and coaches attending the Games
  • Schedule & Organize Tryouts
  • Schedule & Lead Coach Interviews
  • Collection of registration fees for BCWG
  • Coordinate team schedule & events
  • Support with team planning in the lead up to the BC winter Games

Athlete Eligibility

  1. Athletes born in tbc & tbc are eligible to participate in the BC Games. 
  2. A total of 128 athletes are permitted for Ringette at the games.   
  3. Athletes born in any other year will not be permitted to try out.  
  4. Athletes fully rostered to Team BC U16 (CRCs) are not permitted to try out 
  5. Athletes rostered on a 2026 BC Winter Games team that placed in the top 3 are not permitted to try out. 
  6. Athletes can only try out in the zone where they live. This may not be the zone where the athlete plays on an Association team. Proof of residence will be required at tryouts. 
  7. Athletes cannot be released to a different zone.   
  8. Athletes must be registered with Ringette BC through their home association and actively playing on a Ringette team to be eligible to try out and participate in the Games.

Coach Eligibility

BCWG Apprentice Coach Program

Eligibility

  • Applicants must identify as female
  • Must be a resident of BC
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 24 at the time of application
  • Must have been a ringette athlete registered to a team in the last five seasons
  • Must complete NCCP Module & Online Evaluation for Make Ethical Decisions (MED) at least 30 days prior to attending the Games

Apprentice Coaches will be selected by Ringette BC based on their: 

  • Previous experience 
  • Current qualifications 
  • Application Form 
  • Ability to commit to the full program 
  • Availability of BCWG Zone Teams – successful applicants will be placed on the team in their respective BCWG Zone.

All applicants must:

    • be registered for ringette as a coach by TBC
    • be in good standing with Ringette BC and their Home Association
    • have achieved the required certification to coach at the BC Winter Games and have maintained professional development credits with the Coaching Association of Canada
    • additional eligibility criteria may be added closer to the event date

Coaches will be required to submit the following:

  2. Ringette BC Coaches Code of Conduct
  3. Ringette BC Volunteer Screening Form
  4. Sample Practice Plan (U14 or higher) – HC ONLY
