BC Winter Games 2022

The 2022 BC Winter Games were postponed in January of 2022.

The event has been rescheduled for March 23 – 26, 2023 in Vernon BC.

Zone Representatives support with the following tasks

  • Complete registration for all athletes and coaches attending the Games
  • Schedule & Organize Tryouts
  • Schedule & Lead Coach Interviews
  • Collection of registration fees for BCWG
  • Coordinate team schedule & events
  • Support with team planning in the lead up to the BC winter Games

Coach Eligibility

Coach Eligibility

  • Coaches who were selected to the teams in 2022 will have the right of first refusal to participate in the 2023 postponed Games.
  • Coaches who have received complaints, or have or are under-going disciplinary processes may be removed from coaching their designated BC Winter Games Team.
  • Coaches must confirm their commitment to the new event by a designated deadline.
  • Eligibility:
    • Must be registered for ringette for the 2022-2023 season by October 1
    • Must be in good standing with Ringette BC and their Home Association
    • Must have achieved the required certification to coach at the BC Winter Games and have maintained professional development credits with the Coaching Association of Canada
    • Additional eligibility criteria may be added closer to the event date

For new applicants to be considered, coaches will be required to submit the following:

Athlete Eligibility

Updated for Rescheduled competition in March 2023

  • The age division will shift to U17, and the birth years (2006 & 2007) will remain the same.
  • All athletes who are currently on the rosters will remain on the roster for the postponed event.
  • Athletes must confirm their commitment to competing at the 2023 BC Winter Games by a designated deadline.
  • Should an athlete be unable to attend, or is no longer eligible, each Zone will follow a consistent selection process outlined by Ringette BC to fill vacant positions once the program begins.
  • Eligibility:
    • Must be registered to play ringette for the 2022-2023 season by November 1
    • Must be in good standing with Ringette BC and their Home Association
    • Any athletes named to the 2023 Canada Winter Games Team are not eligible to participate in the BC Winter Games, regardless of their age or if they qualified in 2022
    • Additional eligibility criteria may be added closer to the event date

Age: U17
Gender: Male and Female (no more than 20% male on any single team)
