Excellence Ringette Program Coaches

Excellence Ringette Program coaches work with Ringette BC to plan and implement athlete development for the athletes selected to the Excellence Ringette Program. This includes assessment and intake camps, training camps, virtual training and regional development opportunities. Excellence Coaches will also have the opportunity to be selected to coach Team BC at the Canadian Ringette Championships. 2024/2025 Coach Application Information

  • Eligibility

    The Excellence Ringette Program is open to all coaches from across BC who meet the following standards

      • Head Coaches and Program Coaches
        • Competition Introduction – Certified in ringette
      • Regional Coach in Training and Goaltending Specialist
        • Competition Introduction – Trained in ringette
      • All Coaches
        • Making Headway in Sport
        • Coaches Association of Canada Safe Sport Training
        • Respect in Sport
        • At least 2 years coaching experience in the competitive stream

    Coaches should submit the following documents

    • 1. Completed Excellence Coach Application form – complete online

      2. Ringette BC Screening & Disclosure Form – submit via email to technicalcoordinator@bcringette.org

    Applications will be accepted until May 10th, 2024 @ 11:59PM

  • Short Listing and Selection

    Once the application period has completed, short listed candidates will move on to the next step of the application process.

    • Shortlisted Candidates will be required to submit some or all of the following ahead of their interview, depending on the positions(s) they have applied for
      • Yearly Training Plan
        • U14 Zone or higher, current from 2022/2023 onwards
      • Candidate Assignment
        • Create the following, based on an excerpt from a sample Excellence Ringette Program Yearly Training Plan
          • One (1) one hour on ice practice session
          • One (1) off Ice training session
          • One (1) off ice group activity
      • Three (3) References
        • League/Association Representative
        • Past Coaching Associate
        • Parent/Athlete
    • Team BC (U16 and U19) team staff will be selected from the pool of Excellence coaches to compete at the Canadian Ringette Championships.
      • All coaches, regardless of whether they are selected to Team BC, will continue to be a part of the Excellence program for the remainder of the season
