Ringette BC is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful sport environment for all participants. Our goal is to ensure that everyone can enjoy ringette free from all forms of maltreatment. Our Commitment

Ringette BC fully embraces the principles and language of the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS). This commitment guides our policies and practices.

Respect in Sport

Ringette BC and Ringette Canada recognize Respect in Sport as one of the education modules for coaches and leaders in ringette on understanding safe sport practices and initiatives.

Parent Program: Available to help parents support safe sport environments.

Safe Sport Training

The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) offers their Safe Sport Training modules for FREE and includes modules for:

  • Decision-Makers
  • Coaches
  • Athletes

The course covers the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent Abuse and Maltreatment in Sport. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Commit to Kids

Commit to Kids is a prominent national organization dedicated to preventing and ending child abuse and exploitation. Their Safe Sport training program is designed to educate coaches, parents, and decision-makers on the most effective ways to prevent abuse and ensure the safety and well-being of children in sport.

Addressing Maltreatment
viaSport is committed to promoting a safe, positive, and inclusive sport culture across British Columbia. In partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Sport (MTACS), viaSport works to ensure all British Columbians have the opportunity to participate in sport and reach their full potential.

Creating this environment requires ongoing effort from all sport organizations to prioritize experiences that are respectful, inclusive, and free from physical, emotional, and mental harm at every level of sport.

The Responsible Coaching Movement

Led by the Coaching Association of Canada and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, the Responsible Coaching Movement (RCM) is a national initiative calling on parents, coaches, clubs, and sport organizations to foster a safe and healthy environment for all athletes—both on and off the ice.

victims of crime and immediate crisis support to victims of family and sexual violence.
Resilience BC the Anti-Racism Network provides information about how to report incidences of
racism and hate crimes if you are a victim or witness such incidences.
