Excellence Athlete Intake & Assessment Information
Intake, Assessment and Application overview
The Excellence Program uses a comprehensive intake process to identify talented ringette players across British Columbia. The intake is also for athletes to be observed as potential selections to Team BC! Athletes interested in trying out for Team BC must attend this intake.
During the Excellence program and camp, our training and coaching staff provide all athletes with the best coaching to build skill and technique and what is best to improve your game.
July Intake and Assessment Camp Details (Kelowna):
Where: Kelowna, BC
When: July 3rd – 6th, 2025
Registration Deadline: Friday, June 6th, 2025
This camp serves as a Combined Intake Camp for Excellence, Team BC, and CWG athlete identification. Athletes will be streamed into Team BC or Excellence based on evaluations at this intake camp. Excellence will be scaled down to one camp in August, aligning with current demand and capacity. The Coach selection for Excellence, Team BC, and CWG will be finalized prior to the July Intake.
At the July Athlete Intake and Assessment camp, athletes will participate in the following components:

- Four guaranteed ice times with Excellence Coaches. Skill, game, and practice evaluations
- High-performance testing and evaluation with Competitive Thread and Team Genius, benchmarked to national standards
- Cost-effective development opportunity with personalized feedback and a never-before-seen athlete report

Program Costs:
- Intake Cost: $350 per athlete (This fee does not include travel, accommodation, CWG ID fee or rust removal ice.)
- Excellence August Camp Cost: $600 per athlete (excludes travel, accommodation, and meals). Additional program offerings and associated costs will be communicated after August.
Request Accommodation:
- Ringette BC has secured cost-effective accommodation in partnership with UBCO: Two single beds with a bathroom for $110 per night. Please complete the Accommodation for the 2025 Excellence and Team BC Try-Outs Form by June 13th if you would like to book accommodation with Ringette BC for the try-out weekend.
August Excellence Camp #1 Details (Langley):
Where: Langley, BC
When: August 16 – 18, 2025
This camp may be a potential Team BC Camp 1 for shortlisted athletes, delivered in parallel with the Excellence Camp allowing for shared resources and staff capacity. Athletes who have an excused absence for the July intake may have an opportunity to be evaluated at the August camp, per the Athlete Absence and Injury Policy.
