Held once every every four years, the Canada Winter Games represent the highest level of national competition for up and coming Canadian athletes. The Canada Games contribute to Canada’s sport development system as well as creating a lasting legacy of sport facilities, community pride and national unity.

2023 Canada Winter Games Program

The Canada Winter Games program is the pinnacle of participation for many ringette coaches, athletes and officials. This program will follow the Excellence Ringette Program’s Principles and Values while meeting the standards and best practices of safe sport initiatives, policies and practices. In addition, the CWG program will demonstrate the Standards of Professionalism and will be a testament to Ringette Canada’s Corporate Values, the values of Ringette BC and the investment of our local Club Associations in the development of athletes, coaches and officials.

Call for Assistant Coach Applications

Ringette BC is reopening applications for the 2023 Canada Winter Games Assistant coaches. The 2023 Canada Winter Games Team staff are seeking one additional coach to join the current team staff for the 2023 Canada Winter Games in PEI. The ideal candidate will be experienced in high performance ringette and will be a good fit to support the current team staff that are in place.

  • Assistant Coaches: Rod Needham, Jennifer Wheeler
  • Apprentice Coach: Kailey Magrath

Ringette is eligible to send four coaches to the 2023 Canada Winter Games and the current team staff are seeking applications to fill the opening on their current team staff.

Status: Open
  • Application Period: March 25, 2022 – April 15, 2022
  • Interview Dates: To be determined
  • Term: Date of Selection – April 30, 2023

Essential Qualifications
  • Must be currently Competition Development Trained or higher
  • Making Headway in Sport
  • Coach Association of Canada Safe Sport Training
  • Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders
  • At least three years coaching experience at a High Performance level such as: AA; Zone; Excellence Ringette; or Canada Winter Games
